Vision
There is one thought that underlies all our activities. The thought that every human being has the capacity to be powerful, creative and compassionate.
On the basis of this vision we have a fundamental trust in people.
By giving space to one’s own power, possibilities and creativity, is becomes possible to handle life’s challenges, conflicts etc. in a different way, both in one’s personal life and at work.
Welstone training courses
WELSTONE training courses
was developed in 1997 with the aim to offer a contribution to the quality of mediation (conflict management) in the Netherlands. In doing so, the starting-point was that for qualitatively good mediation it is essential to look into three matters:
- A sound knowledge of the structure and process-oriented approach of mediation, as taught in the various basic training programmes acknowledged by the Stichting Nederlands Mediation Instituut (Dutch Mediation Institute Foundation);
- Skills, as offered in these basic training programmes and which are supplemented in follow-up courses;
- The person behind the mediator.
In developing its training programmes, Welstone particularly focussed on the personality of the mediator. What does a mediator need to still be able to deal effectively in the area of conflict from inner peace and balance?
Keeping this central question in mind, the preliminary workshops “Center” and “ Parts” which had common ground, were created containing an experiential approach. With much self-reflection in order to draw on our inner potential (Center) and to get to know more fully, to better accept and rate those aspects (parts) of ourselves that we experience as difficult and vulnerable at their true value.
Although Welstone initially concentrated on mediators, it soon became clear that these workshops were also most suitable for other professionals who have to work under the pressure of conflicts or other circumstances, such as, among others, managers, policy makers et al. in government, teachers and persons working in the health care sector.
The preliminary workshops are offered through open registration or for groups working in, for example, business or government.
In addition to both preliminary workshops, we also offer workshops based on the same pattern that can be tailored to meet the specific circumstances and/or wishes of our clients, and which can be adjusted according to content and time. |
